Girl who loved a flower
In Buddha's time there was a young,beautiful girl in India who belong to the saddle caste.In that era people considered saddle caste as the lowest caste.The people belong to this caste were strictly prohibited to meet the higher class people directly even in the road.
One day this young girl went to the jungle near their village to pick some flowers.On the way she saw a very pleasant young man.He was very handsome and attractive.She was staring at this marvellous man and she forgot to get off from the road.As saddle caste people have to get off from the road when higher caste people are travelling.The young man saw this girl who were staring at him.When he came closer to him,he called to her kindly,
''Sister why are you looking so scared,what is the problem?''
his kind voice was so much beautiful.She answered slowly,
''Sir,I'm a saddle girl.I have to get off from the road,but I forgot that,please forgive me''
the handsome man advised kindly to the girl as follows,
''though you are telling you belong to the saddle caste ,anyone couldn't define a caste by birth,only by work one could define their true caste.''
but the girl did not need any advices.What she only needed was that young man.She was totally went mad on him.After that in all the days and nights she dreamed about him.He was her whole world.He was not just a young man.He was one of the popular buddhist monk ''Ananda thero''The young girl searched about this boy and found out who he was.She secretly followed him and enjoyed his view.She tried many times to talk him but he didn't talk.She expressed her love for him.He refused to meet her.So she was very sad.
One day this girl came to temple following the monk.The Ananda thero complained this to the Buddha,
''Lord Buddha,there is a girl near the entrance.She followed me for some days.One day I gave an advice for her ,by then she follows me,.Can you help me to get rid of this problem?''
the Buddha answered kindly,
''Ananda,there is nothing to worry.I'll help you''
The Buddha went to the entrance and met the girl. ''Sister,what are you doing here?Are you searching for someone?''
''Lord,please forgive me.I followed the Ananda thero.I am looking for him.I'm like him.I want him.He is so handsome.Untill I get my love I follow him.''
she replied all her ideas to the Buddha.
''Sister,do you love him?'' the Buddha asked.
''Yes sir,I love him more than the whole world.I can devote my life for him.How pleasant he is but he can't understand my love for him.''
the Buddha said.
''Thankyou sir.'' girl replied and ran off happily.She was so impatient untill tomorrow.She prepared early in the morning and went near to the pond.It was a beautiful pond filled with lotus.It gives a nice scenery.As the advice of the Buddha,the young girl observed the pond very well.She saw the way of blooming buds when sun rays kissed them.She saw the image of Ananda thero even from the beautiful lotus flowers.She observed the way how pond beautify very slowly.She repeatedly did this exercise for some days.One day she realised something.In the evening she saw flowers fade.petals get off from the stalks and floated on the water.She saw the way how beautiful pond getting ugly.As the pond she realised the way Ananda thero getting old .She understood about the impermanent nature of the word.She ran quickly to the Buddha and described what she understood.The Buddha gave her more advices .She become a monk and within a short period of time she achieved the
nirvana by improving her spiritual powers.
